Abstract
This project aims at providing a robust framework for modeling and subsequently visualizing complex geo-spatial data. This research is valuable for all disciplines that traditionally use geographic information systems (GIS) to work with geo-spatial data. Examples of applications are the visualization of water-related data, such as wells and underground water surfaces, the visualization of traffic accidents, and the visualization of "Quality of Life" related factors. The topics of the research project are to develop elegant and efficient modeling solutions for three-dimensional visualization, simplification, multi-scale visualization, applications, and map layouts.![]() |
