Abstract

A new project between the I3DEA Lab at ASU Polytechnic campus and the U.S. Army involves development of automatic 3D facial recognition algorithmics software. The collaboration between Dr. Anshuman Razdan (PI) at ASU and the Anthropometrics group of the United States Army Soldier Systems Center at Natick, MA, is tasked with developing algorithms for detecting head and facial landmarks in Cyberware generated 3D head scans. Cyberware is a 3D Scanner that shines a safe, low-intensity laser on an object to create a lighted profile that a sensor captures. The system can digitize thousands of profiles in a few seconds to capture the shape of the entire object in 3D.
